Behind the filters · Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2026
It began with an email from the production team. The challenge: take our liquid filters into a 138mm cinema format. It led from our workbench to the Victoria’s Secret runway, where The Gem and The Midas Touch helped shape moments we would never forget.
We had been making our liquid filters in 77mm. Now, we had to bring their movement, reflections and changing light into a much larger format. The question was simple; the work behind it took care, testing and patience.
We built and refined the pieces by hand, returning to the relationship between the liquid, its particles, the light and the camera. Turn a liquid filter and the elements inside shift. The reflections change with them. We wanted that character to remain at the heart of the 138mm versions.
Seeing The Gem become part of Kylie Jenner’s entrance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was a special moment for us. Tiny diamonds suspended in liquid catch the light, creating shifting reflections and halos of color directly in camera.
The movement is part of the effect. For The Gem’s next evolution, we also explored a liquid that lets the crystals fall more slowly, giving those colorful reflections more time to linger.
The Midas Touch brings golden particles into the liquid. As they move and catch the light, warm, changing halos become part of the image. Against the red runway lighting, that movement gives the scene another layer of texture.
